Echeverri (Medellín, Colombia) is an architect and planner with doctoral studies in Urbanism and Territorial Planning at ETSAB (Barcelona), his work combines architectural, urban, environmental projects and planning. He is co-founder and Director of Center for Urban and Environmental Studies. His work has awarded several prizes such as the National Architectural Award SCA 1996, National Urban Planning Award SCA 2008, Pan-American Biennale Urban Design Award Quito 2008, Curry Stone Design Prize 2009, 10th Veronica Rudge Green Prize in Urban Design Harvard 2013.  As General Manager of the EDU, Institute for urban development of the municipality from 2004 to 2005, and the City's Director of Urban Projects for the Municipality of Medellin from 2005 to 2008, he has conceptualized and implemented Social Urbanism, playing a crucial role in the improvement Medellin.
